I say Mod Raven because he’s in charge of the 1st World Event.
So, lately, we’ve been getting information on Runescape Gold and World Events from many, many game magazines, game websites, JMods, Q and A sessions, Campfires, etc.And over the past weeks some of the quotes we’ve been getting are vague, contradictory, confusing and misleading.
Which means that when we put all of that information together, parts of it don’t assemble and contradict one another. All of this started a year or so ago with the hype of the World Events, when the actual ”World Events” name wasn’t used yet.
1st Issue)
1.1) Since the hype for World Events started, JMods have continuously hinted that we’d be able to change GIELINOR itself and its future. That our decisions and actions would somehow be crucial to World Events which would be crucial to the Gods’ Conflict outcome which would be crucial to Gielinor itself.
1.2) But lately, we’ve been having some quotes hinting that it may not be that way. That all our actions will do is affect our OWN game world. And last I checked, all of Gielinor =/= our own personalized world.
If this is true, it essentially means the World Events are useless and not actually World-Wide, for all we know, can just make all of this a big series of quests and call them ”Quests”.
Because, if everyone is going to be getting it their way, that’s what they are, quests. And that way, Gielinor won’t ever have a common future. We’d have worlds entirely ran by Zaros, others by Sliske, others by Bandos.
For a huge amount of reasons, besides not making any sense, I think that throws away most of the enjoyment and realism of the World Events and their realistic/permanent consequences.
1.3) But then again, in the SAME Campfire session, we got given two, unclear, weird, contradictory quotes.
”You will be able to make community choices in world events that will affect solo quest content. The characters in the quest, the choices they offer and their dialogue will change. It’s then likely that solo content will reskin other events.”
”Say, for example, that the community decides that Mod Raven should be put in a bin head first rather than feet first. In solo content, you will then decide whether to tickle him or put on booties. In later community content, he may react to you differently based on that decision. They feed off each other. ”
CONCLUSION – Please just clarify whether the big decisions will come down to the community or to the player. And whether the future of Gielinor will be the same for all or entirely different. Simple.
2nd Issue) Length of World Event.
I simple don’t get this quote. Gosh Jagex how hard is it to communicate properly?
”The Battle of Lumbridge: An epic-scale world event which will shake the foundations of Gielinor, and one which is driven entirely by your actions. Week by week, your choices will shape the flow of battle and the fate of characters, locations and stories, and the ultimate outcome will set the course for RuneScape’s future.”
– An epic-scale world event which will shake the foundations of Gielinor, and one which is driven entirely by your actions.
. Got it!
– Week by week, your choices will shape the flow of battle and the fate of characters, locations and stories, and the ultimate outcome will set the course for RuneScape’s future.
. What the….? Do you mean that we will have World Events every week? As opposed to the three months you gave away to some gaming magazine (whose name I can’t remember right now)? Or do you mean that there will be other, minor types of events/choices every week? Or that this World Event will go on for weeks?
